Respecting Nature

Campsite Rules

We hope to preserve the quiet, wild beauty of West Penwith. Following these simple rules helps us protect local wildlife and ensure everyone enjoys their stay.

A Simple Agreement

Sunset Farm is a working, rural landscape situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Because we operate without set pitches or artificial hook-ups, we rely on our guests to respect the land, the farm animals, and other campers.

Campfires & Fire Pits

Campfires are part of the wild camping tradition, but they must be managed responsibly to protect the pastures.

  • Keep fires off the bare grass.
  • Only use elevated fire pits/bowls.
  • Do not leave fires unattended.

Four-Legged Friends

Dogs are welcome to run free within your camping area, but they must remain under absolute control around our livestock.

  • Must be under immediate voice control.
  • Keep on leashes near farm livestock.
  • Clean up waste instantly and completely.

Quiet Hours & Dark Skies

We are located within a designated Dark Sky Park. High levels of light or sound disrupt local wildlife and ruin the stargazing experience for everyone.

  • Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • No amplified music allowed at any time.
  • Avoid bright, high-power floodlights.

Leave No Trace

What you bring to the cliffs should leave with you. Please help us keep the campsite free from rubbish.

  • Sort waste into appropriate bins provided.
  • Use the provided compost toilets correctly.
  • No dumping of grey water or chemicals on fields.

Working Farm Notice

Sunset Farm is an active agricultural site. Please keep clear of all machinery, barn buildings, and livestock unless explicitly invited. Secure farm gates behind you at all times when walking the public paths.

Parents must accompany children under 16 at all times while exploring the farm boundary.
